Three funded PhD studentships on the EUROFARM project

We have just advertised three ERC-funded PhD studentships on the EUROFARM project, dealing with archaeobotany, landscape use (geoarchaeology), and lithic analysis respectively. Based at UCL Institute of Archaeology, London, the PhDs will work alongside the project PI and the zooarchaeology specialist over the next three years, and will be involved in fieldwork and museum research in Bosnia & Herzegovina, Montenegro, and Croatia. The deadline for applications is April 8^th 2013.

Tri doktorske stipendije na EUROFARM projektu

Upravo smo oglasili tri stipendije za doktorske studije na EUROFARM projektu koje će finansirati Evropski savet za naučna istraživanja (ERC). Stipendije su namenjene istraživanjima u oblasti arheobotanike, geoarheologije i analize artefakata od okresanog kamena. Studenti-doktoranti će u naredne tri godine raditi na Arheološkom institutu Univerzitetskog Koledža u Londonu (UCL Institute of Archaelogy), u saradnji sa direktorom projekta i specijalistom za zooarheologiju, a takođe će biti angažovani na terenskim i muzejskim istraživanjima u Bosni i Hercegovini, Crnoj Gori i Hrvatskoj. Rok za prijave je 8. april 2013.

Upcoming fieldwork in Bosnia & Herzegovina makes local news

Final preparations are under way for our first official EUROFARM field season, working with Mrs. Ivana Pandžić and the Museum of the Republika Srpska (Banja Luka) at the site of Kočićevo in northern Bosnia & Herzegovina. With work due to start in a couple of weeks, Ivana gave this interview to Banja Luka daily Glas Srpske.

David Orton joins the project

Zooarchaeologist Dr. David Orton joined the EUROFARM project this month. Over the next four years he will be studying the animal remains from our new excavations and from museum collections around the region, to understand the early development of animal husbandry.

On Nov. 5th 2012, Dr. Marc Vander Linden signed in Banja Luka a research agreement between the ERC-funded EUROFARM project and the Ministry of Education and Culture of the Republika Srpska, represented by Dr. Anton Kasipovic, Minister of Education and Culture.

Ugovor o saradnji

5. novembra 2012, potpisan je ugovor između EUROFARM projekta finansiranog od strane ERC, i Ministarstva obrazovanja i kulture Republike Srpske. Ugovor vezan za arheološka istraživanja potpisali su Dr. Marc Vander Linden ispred EUROFARM projekta i Dr. Anton Kasipović, ministar za obrazovanje i kulturu.
